Silversun Pickups - Swoon

Hear me out when I say this. Don't completely pay attention to the rating of this album if you are a fan of major-label Alternative Punk/Rock music. I see Silversun Pickups new record Swoon from 2 sides. 1: My, and fans of indie-rock music's point of view, and 2: people who like bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Rise Against, Silversun Pickups earlier album Carnavas, and most other Alternative Rock bands. In spite of the fact that Swoon is on a very indie record label, it is not indie rock. And from my point of view, it's a pretty average record overall. The songs carry out somewhat original melodies, but my big biff on this one, is the singers voice. Ugh. I guess I'm okay with the music part of it, and songs like Substitution and There's No Secrets This Year are kinda catchy, but honestly. His put-on, completely unoriginal voice basically drains all the unique-juices they had left in the song by making it sound like just another radio hit.

However, remember how I mentioned the people who like bands like this? If you are one of those people, this is a terrific album to get, and run to the nearest Borders, or Barnes 'n Noble, or whatever music store suits you best, and BUY THIS RECORD!! Hate running because you can't possibly exercise with those gigantic thighs? Then go down to the iTunes Music Store and purchase the whole thing for only $9.99!!! That's about it folks!
